A day in the life of Reed

He can't wait for the day he can eat what we eat - he won't be fooled by rice cereal. He wants the good stuff!

He drools...and drools...and drools

He rolls! He can roll front to back and, as of Friday, rolls back to front!

He bounces - we have to put him "in the closet" to bounce because the molding around our other doors, while pretty, is too big to clip the bouncy chair around. So we have to put him in my closet. He doesn't seem to mind...

He hangs out with daddy. He also spends some time with me - we just don't have pictures to proove it. :o(

And he sleeps.

Life is good.

Home again

We had a great time in California and were sad to leave family and friends, but it's nice to come home and get back into a routine. I was so anxious about how Reed would do on the airplane, but he couldn't have done better. Each way, he was rocked to sleep by the airplane taxiing to the runway and slept until we landed! It was amazing.

Reed got to meet his great grandpa, for the first time.

My mom and I went up to the city and saw Wicked the Saturday before we left. We had so much fun and loved, loved, loved the musical. My dad made it possible by being brave enough to watch Reed for the day. Thanks, Dad, for letting mom and I go off and have fun.

Reed and Opa taking a nap.

I hosted book club at our house on Tuesday night (we read When Crickets Cry by Charles Martin and it was unanimously agreed upon that it's worth a read) Anyway, for FHE was were going to plant peas and onions in the garden, but it was snowing, so I decided it would be fun to rearrange the living room instead! I haven't liked the funriture arrangement since we unpacked and book club was the perfect excuse to get it done. I the room is long and the way the couch and armchairs were, they were really far apart, so we made a more cozy seating area, took out some furniture, brought in some furniture and we like it much more.

While we moved furniture back and forth (thank goodness for furniture sliders!) Reed sat on the couch surrounded by pillows and tucked in with a blanket. We have found his new favorite thing. He sat there for over an hour just talking and singing and watching us.

I know I carried him for 9 months, but for awhile there, he was just looking like Brent to me. Lately, I can see me in there too. What do you think?

Happy boy.

Reed gives his Bumbo a big thumbs up!

Reed discovered his foot the other day and he thought it was so funny. He held on to it the whole time I was doing dishes .

Well, apparently, furniture rearranging was just the beginning of tearing the house apart and putting it back together. I've go the spring cleaning bug and am going through everything. I've sold a bunch of stuff on Craigslist and taken bags to the DI. It gets worse before it gets better though, so I'd better go chip away at the mess while I've got the urge to do it!
