Trip to California

Reed and I are actually still IN California, but the pictures are getting out of control, so I thought I'd put some up really quickly and do a follow-up when we get home.

My mom and I spent a very relaxing week up in Mendocino. Reed was able to officially get over his cold and I was able to relax and rest (it's exhausting taking care of a 4 month old with a cold!) We've enjoyed many walks along the ocean this past week.

Lots of nature walks in the front carrier - I love that thing!

We went to store and I buckled him into the cart. I have never seen him enjoy something so much. He was super happy, smiley, giggly and you could tell he felt so grown up. He has mastered his neck muscles and is now working on sitting up. The cart was perfect for showcasing his new skills - it makes me think he's going to love the Bumbo even more once we get home!

Reed loves to stand and bounce and wiggle while you support him and hold his hands, but it gets tiring after awhile...so I propped him up on the sofa with pillows and he was so happy and, again, looked like he felt so grown up - upright and free to watch what was going on around him.

All clean and so cute! I'll be sad when his hair stops sticking straight up.

Nasty colds

So, I haven't posted pics for a very long time, but we have had a nasty cold being passed around our family. I got it first, then Brent and Reed got it just about the time I got better. They also came down with it the day Reed and I left for California and Reed slept through the entire plane ride - it was great! Brent has been all alone and sick back in Utah, but I think we are all on the mend now. Reed and I are still in California (until Monday) and he's finally back to his smiley self. Here's some pre-trip pictures:

We fed Reed rice cereal for the first time on the 15th and we managed to get some of it IN his mouth!

He has discovered how fun it is to blow spit bubbles. I was on the computer and heard him gurgling away and when I went over to check on him after a few minutes, he had a huge pile of bubbles coming out of his mouth, down his face and pooling on the bed.

Job changes

Brent posting: We’ve had a big change. Fidelity has moved my group (tax-exempt) back east. They were planning on moving us into the retail group in slc, but with the economy as it is right now Fidelity doesn’t have the need for the additional staff. So, I get to look for new employment which is a little disappointing as I was really looking forward to the new position. That said, Fidelity has given us severance so I’ll have a little extra time to spend with Reed and Caroline while I evaluate new career opportunities.
