Slow down little man!

Life suddenly got very busy this last week. Reed went from being fairly stationary to being extrememly mobile. He's been rolling for awhile now, but we could leave the room to throw something away and he'd be in pretty much the same spot when we came back. Now he's army crawling everywhere. Gone are the days we can have him on our bed with pillows around him or leave things on the floor where he can get to them - where are we supposed to put our shoes?!

Anyway, he's also done being swaddled. He rolls over and that's not safe. But now he also doesn't stay put and fall asleep when we put him down for the night. He flips right over and crawls to the egde closest to the door and cries and cries. Fun. So this week I've been babyproofing, taking the bassinet out of the portable crib, lowering his matress and getting very little sleep. We've also started feeding Reed in the highchair. So many changes I can't keep up! He's turned into a little man that plays with toys, crawls around and eats in a highchair practically overnight!

Happy Mother's Day, Mom!

Thanks for all you've done and continue to do!

A tooth!

A tooth broke through about 3 weeks ago, but there's always so much slobber in the way it's been hard to get a good picture of it. Plus, when ever you try to get a good look at it by pulling his lip away, his tongue goes crazy and forget it...

Happy Spring!

So, we've been taking advantage of the gorgeous spring weather and spending lots of time outside in our yard. Between the time Brent was hired at etrade and the time he actually started I put him to work planting a hedge along the back fence (to start hiding the apartment parking lot behind us as soon as possible!), getting our garden area ready for planting, landscaping our front flower beds, digging out new flower beds by the sidewalk and taking out a lamp post! He worked hard and we got so much done. We now have the foundation of our landscaping in place and can sit back and enjoy it for years. Here our some pics of our little man watching us work.

He rolled and scooted himself from the center of the entryway over to a corner and sat there watching me plant in the containers on the front porch. He can get himself in the crawling position, but has only figured out how to go backwards. In this case it got him a better view of what i was doing, but it's quite frustrating for him when he means to go for a toy and just gets farther and farther away from it. he's getting so big...
