I put a sheet over Reed's changing table (it's really just a small dining room table) and a nearby bookcase and Reed's had fun playing in there for hours. It's awesome.
We've discovered Mr. Potato Head around here and Reed takes the Star Wars peices and tries to wear them himself. They barely fit on his face and push his nose up when he gets them postitioned. It's hilarious, especially when he tries to add the Darth Vader sound effects with his mouth full of pieces.
Our new (to us) dryer!!! Remember back when everything was breaking around here? Well, the last thing that needed to be replace was our dryer. We got by for what felt like FOREVER wihout one and I was prepared to go until our washer broke and we could get a matching set. I decided to look one KSL (Utah's Craigslist) to see if I could find an old one for cheap to get us by. The most recent post was my ideal dryer and had only been up for a few minutes, but it was $300. Whirlpool Duet, 3 years old, they'd moved and couldn't get a gas dryer hooked up in their new house, works perfectly, etc, etc. $300 was a pretty good deal, but for a used dryer to get us by until our washing machine breaks I had set my cap at around $150. Plus, this wasn't exactly the beater I was looking for, so I kept looking at the other postings and nothing else was even tempting. I went back to look at the perfect one - just for fun - and the price had dropped to $150! Too good to be true. I called, got the money and Brent and I went to look at it (fully expecting it to have a bashed-`in corner or signs of abuse or damage). NOTHING! We loaded it into our car, hooked it up AND it works perfectly! Plus, I love having a pedestal. It was a little scary to buy a dryer (even for a good deal) when we couldn't actually see that it worked. But it felt right and looked great and it worked out (this time). I'm sure there are horror stories out there, but I feel so blessed that we were somehow able to pull off replacing all these huge things while keeping within our means. Still amazes me.

Reed doesn't really get holidays yet. I think next year he will vaguely remember them from this year and start to get excited about things like birthdays, Christmas and Easter! Reed was a huge fan of the egg hunt. *Our yard is in progress and getting some pretty major changes so excuse the dirt piles and fallen tree.* He loved finding them and hiding them. We probably had 5 egg hunts before Brent and I insisted we go inside. He was hiding them and then finding them for the rest of the week.
Candy, IKEA veggie basket, Peter Rabbit book and the movie Tangled. We love Easter!
Reed has pretty much the same toys that we had in place when he was born, but he is just recently discovering or showing an interest in most of them. These lacing beads are not yet for lacing but for making small lamps that are placed all around the house. :)
A mirror I found at the DI for my dresser. I was planning on painting it when I bought it, but once I got it in place it actually matches well enough that there are other projects I'd rather get done first.
April was also the month for getting most of this years garden in. Reed loves it and has helped plant many of the seeds and asks what all the plants are. He helps water and gets dirty every day. Perfect. We dug up the grass behind our garage for our garden when we first moved in, but we found a nasty patch of Quack grass in our otherwise perfect back lawn so we're digging out the grass next to garden and wil go all the way across the yard. It still leave a normal sized area of grass for Reed to play in and we'll decided if we want to expend our garden or put in a play area or what. Maybe we;ll replant the grass. We'll see...
Last, but not least, my brother Nate moved in with us. It's nice to have his help in our yard and with Reed. Now I can easily do things like go to the dentist and get my haircut! He's loooking for a job so if anyone knows of anything, please let us know! He has a degree in Geography, but is open to anything!
It hasn't really been a huge transition, but we've had to make room for his things and it spilled over into rearranging pretty much the whole house. I actually like how things are now and I feel like I'm ready to finally hang pictures up and make things more permanent. My parents came out with Nate to get him moved in and my mom stayed with us a little longer and was a huge help in getting things arranged and settled. The dining room is still housing all the random things that I was hiding in our spare bedroom and all over the house that I have piled into one room instead of having the whole house be a mess. I still don't kow what to do with it all. I should probably take pictures of the special thngs I don't really want anymore and just donate it all. I probably wouldn't even miss it...it's stressing me out. It feels good to be all moved in now! Took long enough!
